The Carrollwood area derived it's name from Lake Carroll located just outside Tampa city limits. Over the past three decades Carrollwood has grown to encompass both zip codes 33618 and 33624. The major north-south route is Dale Mabry hwy, named for World War I aviator, Dale Mabry. Along Dale Mabry can be found restaurants and shopping to meet nearly every taste and budget. The area offers easy access to the Veterans Expressway, Ramond James Stadium, and Tampa International Airport. The Greater Carrollwood area is dominated lakes both small and large. Much of the residential development is in planned, deed restricted communities. The area offers a choice of single family, town home and condominium choices. The original (old Carrollwood) area has a large number of homes without the deed restrictions of the newer development if your preference is to not live in a deed restricted community.
