Riverside Heights, tucked away on the eastern shore of the lower Hillsborough river, is neighborhood of bungalows, cottages, and mid century homes. With it's mix of vintage homes, it is one one of central Tampa's hidden neighborhood gems. A neighborhood .jpg) with more original brick streets than any of the Heights neighborhoods and no through streets cutting through the neighborhood, it is easy to overlook. Central to the neighborhood are Freedom Park and Plymouth Park operated by the city of Tampa. Riverside Heights has a mix of homes dating from the 1920's to the present day.  Just minutes to the University of Tampa, Downtown, and St. Jospeph Hospital nearby professional offices. South Seminole Heights, just to the north of Riverside Heights is another  riverfront neighborhood. Much of the riverfront in South Seminole Heights is public parkland and the jewel of the neighborhood. Many people unfamiliar with South Seminole Heights are often surprised to find a large riverfront park in the heart of Tampa.
This is a neighborhood dominated by historic Tampa bungalows built prior to 1930. However, there are larger houses, mostly on the river. Most of the streets are shaded by beautiful oaks.
The neighborhood encourages home renovations through the awarding of Beautification Banners to neighbors who have made significant improvement to their newer and vintage homes.
 Southeast Seminole Heights, located on the east side of I-275 between Hillsborough Ave. and Martin Luther King BLVD. Southeast Seminole Heights is a neighborhood with a tremendous community spirit and a can-do approach to bringing together the community. Whether it was the creation of a neighborhood dog park, fund raising for the yet to be built Giddens Park Gazebo, or their annual holiday home tour, it is a neighborhood on the rise.
