I admit it, I have a bias for older homes, having renovated several in Seminole Heights that I have lived in.  Scattered through out Tampa, historic and vintage homes can be found in South Tampa, West Tampa, The Heights neighborhoods, and the Ybor City area.  Some are surrounded by similiar era homes while others might be one of the few remnants of those earlier years.
